BECOME A MICS FRIEND
As an independent non-profit organisation, MICS has always depended on donations and research grants in order to carry out long-term research on the marine mammals that roam the Gulf of St Lawrence. The discoveries and findings that have resulted from 37 years of dedicated and devoted research could not have happened without the precious help of its supporter base.
Long-term research such as that conducted by MICS is crucial to understanding and protecting marine mammals and we are committed to pursuing our high quality research to better understand the threats that these animals are facing in such a changing environment.
We are introducing a brand new way for our followers to support MICS for the long haul! Our wish is to create a long-term, ongoing partnership between you and MICS that reflects our environmental conservation mission.
Sign up to our new program MICS FRIENDS! This is an annual subscription which works per calendar year, starting every January. You will be asked whether or not you wish to renew your subscription at the end of every year.
A MICS FRIENDS subscription will give you access to:
- Early preview of our in-depth newsletter 3 times a year, including MICS news and research advances
- The top three cetacean photos of the field research season in high resolution at the end of the season for you to print at home
Subscription fees
The minimum subscription fee for MICS FRIENDS starts at $50 per year, but larger donations are of course more than welcome ($100, $150 or even $500, depending on your budget!), and will allow MICS to pursue its research activities.
Students can sign up for a discounted 25$!
Please use the Donate button below to transfer your MICS FRIEND subscription funds. Canadian residents can also send a check to the postal address below.
Tax receipts
Canadian residents: MICS is a registered Canadian charity, (BN 116763467RR0001). Canadian residents may request a tax receipt for donations of $100 or more. If you wish to receive a tax receipt for a smaller donation, please donate via CanadaHelps. Make sure you specify in your message that your donation is for MICS FRIENDS and leave us your email address.
US residents: MICS is a registered 501(c)(3) charity in the United States. If you require a tax receipt (minimum 100$) please request one via email (or letter) and provide us with your postal address.
Upon receipt of your donation, you will receive confirmation of your subscription via email. If you have donated money yet have not heard back from us within 10 days, please email us at mics@rorqual.com
