Day Trips with MICS Researchers
|
| | Taking a tour through our museum offers a glimpse of our studies at sea. Participating in a day trip at sea with our researchers gives you the chance to experience field research first-hand. You can experience and even contribute to our photo-identification, biopsy, acoustic, and behavioral data collection techniques. While actually seeing cetaceans in their natural habitat during the trip researchers and naturalists will share their knowledge on the species encountered, gained through more than 34 seasons of field work in the St. Lawrence. You will meet individual humpback, fin, minke and blue whales we have known for 20 to 30 years.
Be sure to bring sun-block for your skin and lips, as well as sunglasses to protect your eyes, warm clothing, camera, binoculars and a good meal with plenty to drink. We will provide you with an exposure suit.
